Frequently Asked Questions: GeneralI recently donated to the Annual Fund. Does that make me a member of the Alumni Association?No. Although we are grateful that you support NC State, giving to the Annual Fund does not make you a member of the Alumni Association. Annual Fund donors, however, do receive quarterly issues of NC State, the alumni magazine. The Alumni Association is a dues-based organization that supports NC State and its alumni family through scholarships, professor stipends, events to socialize and network, career services and much more. To join or get more information, call 800.627.2586. You can also join or renew online with our secured server. Can people join the Alumni Association if they didn’t graduate from NC State?Yes. Membership is open to all alumni, faculty, staff and friends of NC State. Alumni include all former students, including those who did not receive a degree. Can I pay my Alumni Association dues through the Annual Fund?No. Membership dues must be paid directly to the Alumni Association. In fact, even if you’re making a gift to the Annual Fund and paying your membership dues at the same time, you’re asked to send two separate checks (you can use the same envelope) to meet university accounting and audit requirements. Can I pay my Alumni Association dues online?Yes. Just visit our online join/renew form and have your credit card ready. Can I pay membership dues or program fees with a credit card?Yes. You may fax membership forms or event registrations to 919.515.1791. Please include your card number and expiration date. Where can I get tickets for athletic events?The athletics ticket office handles all tickets for revenue and nonrevenue sporting events. Call the office at 919.515.2106 or 800.310.PACK to get information or buy tickets. Seating charts for the RBC Center and information on other venues, as well as prices, are available from GoPack. You can buy tickets for concerts scheduled in the RBC Center by calling TicketMaster at 919.834.4000 or visiting www.ticketmaster.com. Will membership in the Alumni Association improve my athletic-event ticket assignments?No. The Alumni Association is not involved with ticket distribution or assignments. We do encourage members to support NC State athletics, and we sponsor the Wolfpack Fan Zone before home football games and other sports-related events. Visit the Events and For Pack Fans sections of the site for more details. How can I get a replacement diploma?You can contact the Registration and Records office at 919.515.2572. It is open from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday. How can I get a copy of my NC State transcript?Official transcripts are available from Registration and Records. An For more information on the process or to download a request form, visit the Registration and Records. How do I find a lost classmate?You can search the Online Directory. Members of the Alumni Association have full access to the directory, which has contact information for NC State alumni. Another source of contact information is the office of alumni records at donor_records@ncsu.edu. Can the Online Directory be used for solicitations?No. The contact information for alumni is password protected. Only members can access it. Use of directory information for any commercial, political or solicitation purpose is expressly prohibited. Where is the Dorothy and Roy Park Alumni Center, and where can I park?The Dorothy and Roy Park Alumni Center is located at 2450 Alumni Drive on Centennial Campus. We now offer ample free parking. From Western Boulevard, turn on Avent Ferry Road. Turn left at the first light on Centennial Parkway(at the corner of Mission Valley Shopping Center). Turn right at the third light on Achievement Drive. At the end of Achievement, turn left on Main Campus Drive. At the end of Main Campus Drive, turn right on Alumni Drive. The Park Alumni Center is located at the end of the street. From I-40, take the Lake Wheeler Road Exit. Turn left at Centennial Parkway (at the Farmers’ Market neon sign). Take a left at the second light on Achievement Drive. At the end of Achievement, turn left on Main Campus Drive. At the end of Main Campus Drive, turn right on Alumni Drive. The Park Alumni Center is located at the end of the street. How can I get more involved in the Alumni Association?The Alumni Association has dozens of ways for you to connect with NC State and your alumni family. Here are a handful. Alumni clubs are a great way to meet other NC State alumni in your area and stay in touch with your alma mater. Currently, there are 100 alumni clubs throughout the United States, offering opportunities for service, friendship and networking. The Alumni Association supports a dozen special-interest alumni societies, from college groups to the Marching Band and Forever Club. These groups help you to reconnect with friends, network, raise money for endowed scholarships and support university departments and programs. Travel with the Pack through the Wolf Treks Travel Program. It’s open to all members of the Alumni Association. Help other members recruit the next class of top applicants to NC State through the Pack Partners program. By acting as volunteer admissions representatives in their home communities, these well-trained and knowledgeable alumni help extend the reach of the admissions office. Participate in a senior send-off, a local event that honors students who have committed to attend NC State in the fall. Planned by alumni in the community, and running the gamut from cookouts to ice cream socials, the send-offs welcome incoming students and their parents into the NC State family. Come out to the Wolfpack Fan Zone—the place to be 2 1/2 hours before every NC State home football game. Located in front of the RBC Center, the Fan Zone offers live music, free face painting, games, munchies and giveaways from vendors who support the Pack. The NC State Marching Band, cheerleaders and Mr. and Mrs. Wuf make pregame visits to get the spirit flowing. Alumni can also howl a Wolfpack welcome to listeners of the Wolfpack Sports Network pregame show as it broadcasts live from the Zone. How do I get an NC State VISA card?Show your Wolfpack pride and support NC State programs too! Carry the only credit card that lets you contribute to the NC State Alumni Association with every purchasethe NC State Visa card. Every time you use it to make a purchase, you’ll generate a contribution to the NC State Alumni Association, which supports faculty recognition, alumni events and student scholarships. How do I order NC State merchandise?You can order clothing, jewelry and other merchandise from the NC State Alumni Collection. Does the Alumni Association send out sympathy cards to the families of deceased alumni?The association does not send cards when alumni pass away. But it does publish news of their deaths in the Class Notes section of NC State magazine. When requested, the Alumni Association will send the family a copy of the magazine in which the obituary appeared. To submit news of career change, marriage, achievements or death, go to Updates & Class Notes. How can I get information about the alumni travel program?Wolf Treks travel packages are available online. If you have questions, you can call 800.627.2586 or contact travel coordinator Kathy Hart at alumni_travel@ncsu.edu. Class Rings?Class rings are a strong tradition at NC State. NCSU Bookstores offers all of the preferred rings and is the only source for the official NC State class ring. For more information, go to www.fis.ncsu.edu/ncsubookstores/graduation.html. For more information about rings, call 919.515.3588. Can you help me find a job?Members of the NC State Alumni Association have immediate access to the online Career Center. It provides a valuable resource to you as an Alumni Association member, allowing you to search and apply for job opportunities posted by employers seeking NC State alumni. As a member you can post a profile online for potential employers to view. Visit Alumni Career Services for more information. Can I get NC State license plates for my car?Yes—if you live in North Carolina, Virginia or Maryland. In North Carolina, the annual fees for NC State tags are $25; $45 for personalized. Of that amount, $15 helps the Alumni Association support student scholarships and faculty awards programs. To order your NC plate, download the NC application form and return it to the N.C. Division of Motor Vehicles. In Maryland, the only cost is a one-time fee of $25 per set of plates. Contact the Maryland Motor Vehicle Administration for more information. The cost of the Virginia plate is $25 per year; $35 for personalized. Contact the Virginia DMV for information.
