NC State University has a class ring design that will not change.
The Official Class Ring of NC State was unveiled Oct. 4 at a campus celebration. Designed with distinctive features to be recognizable and representative of NC State, the ring replaces the 300-plus designs from which alumni have chosen in recent years.
A committee of students, alumni, faculty and staff worked for a year to create the design, which features the Block S, the Alumni Memorial Bell Tower, 21 bricks on one side (representing members of the university’s first freshman class) and 19 bricks on the other side (representing members of the first graduating class). It also depicts the university mace and the front door to Holladay Hall standing open to represent the university’s openness to new ideas and its land-grant mission to serve.
Members of the Alumni Association can turn in their old rings for new ones at no cost. Contact Johnny Burleson.
Students with 60 credit hours are eligible to purchase the ring. They can meet with ring representatives at the NCSU Bookstores:
