Alumni can now post memories and messages to the faculty awards winners.
This year the Alumni Association celebrates its 40-year tradition of honoring outstanding faculty at NC State with $70,000 in annual awards. The Alumni Association gave the first faculty awards to undergraduate professors in 1968 and has since expanded the annual program to recognize outstanding graduate professors, researchers, outreach and extension specialists, and teachers.
Although the Alumni Association provides the awards, campus committees select the winners.
-Distinguished Undergraduate Professors are chosen by a committee appointed by the provost.
-Distinguished Graduate Professors are chosen by the Graduate School.
-Outstanding Extension and Outreach Awards are chosen by a committee headed by the vice chancellor for extension, outreach and economic development.
-Outstanding Research Awards are chosen by a committee headed by the vice chancellor for research and graduate studies.
-Outstanding Teacher Awards are chosen by the executive committee of the Senior Class Council.
