Victor R. Brozovsky of Goldsboro is a nuclear engineering major. He’s participated in an Alternative Spring Break trip to Washington, D.C., and is an accomplished pianist and composer.
Mary J. Burroughs of Cary is a chemical engineering major. She’s active in NC State’s Circle K International and Hall Council. In high school, she was a National Honor Society service coordinator and Girl Scout.
Justin W. Carrington of Raleigh is majoring in English, teacher education option. He is a writer for Technician, NC State’s student newspaper, and was active in high school student government.
Arialle Kaye Crabtree of Hickory is majoring in political science and applied sociology. She is an NC State Student Government freshman senator and service leadership consultant for CSLEPS (Center for Student Leadership, Ethics and Public Service).
Kristin Ann Cunningham of Dunstable, Mass., is majoring in environmental design in architecture. She is active in NC State’s Campus YMCA service group and, in high school, was class president.
Samuel Owen Dennis of Jamestown is a biological sciences major. He’s a Big Brother elementaryschool mentor, Pre-Medical Club MCAT coordinator and, in high school, was active in student government.
Doa’a Gamal Dorgham of Raleigh is a psychology major. She established the Universal Awareness Club and is active in the Muslim American Society.
Matthew Paul Drake of Pinetops is an animal science major. He’s active in the NC State Animal Science Club and the Agronomy Club as sergeant of arms.
Ariel Ruth Fugate of Lexington, Ken., is a fisheries & wildlife sciences major. She’s active in the Leopold Wildlife Club and revitalization of the NC State Chapter of Slow Food USA.
Stuart Ralston Gordon of Cary is majoring in mathematics education and mathematics. He is a Students Advocating for Youth (SAY) village resident, elementary-school mentor and, in high school, was a Communities in Schools middle-school tutor.
Kristen Glasgow Gower of Cross Plains, Wis., is majoring in political science (law and justice concentration). She active in NC State’s Inter-Residence Council and is a Campus Pals big sister. In high school, she was class president and member of the DECA marketing association.
Luisa Fernanda Jaramillo of Cary is a biochemistry major. She’s active in Habitat for Humanity and Chi Alpha Christian fellowship group, and she teaches Sunday school.
Katrina N. Jiamachello of Shelby is a zoology major. She’s active in The Movement, an anti-violence group, and, in high school, played varsity volleyball and violin in several orchestras.
Ryne Andrew Jones of Benson is majoring in French language and literature. He is a freshman representative for NC State’s Thomas Jefferson Scholars and associate leader of his church youth group. In high school, he was treasurer and service chair for a chapter of Interact.
Alyssa M. Koehler of Asheboro is a biological engineering major. She’s active in NC State’s WISE (Women in Science and Engineering) program, ASABE (American Society of Agricultural and Biological Engineers), PENC (Professional Engineers of North Carolina) adopt-a-student program and Engineers’ Council Freshman Committee.
David Michael Mabe of Stoneville is a computer engineering major. He is an NC State Student Media photojournalist and, in high school, was yearbook editor. He’s also a whitewater canoeing enthusiast.
Courtland H. Matthews of Williamston is an international studies major. He is active in Circle K as an elementary-school tutor and served as NC State campus visibility coordinator for a 2008 presidential candidate.
Kyle G. Oman of Kannapolis is an aerospace engineering major. In high school, he competed on the soccer, track and swim teams, participated in Athletes Who Share Unselfish Moments (AWSUM) and co-founded a Habitat for Humanity chapter.
William T. Pluer of Huntersville is majoring in biological engineering (environmental engineering concentration). He’s active in the NC State University Honors Program, Men’s Volleyball Club and Student Wolfpack Club.
Amy Gardner Schlosser of Winston-Salem is majoring in industrial design and psychology. She’s active in the NC State Design Council and Cooking Club, and, in high school, was a service club co-president.
Medha Surampudy of Cary is a political science major. She’s been active in Amnesty International in high school and at NC State, and she sings with the Ladies in Red a capella group.
