Be a Student Ambassador

Ambassadors attend events and tailgates, travel, meet fascinating alumni—and talk about life at NC State! They develop a network of contacts with other energetic, involved students and successful graduates. Most importantly, they have a role in organizing and preserving timeless NC State traditions such as Homecoming, Founders’ Day and STAT (Students Today Alumni Tomorrow).

What makes a good Student Ambassador?

Ambassadors are selected based on their campus involvement, communication skills, leadership ability/potential and an infectious spirit for NC State. With a diversity of interests, backgrounds and disciplines, they represent the best of what NC State has to offer.

What are the requirements?

New ambassadors are selected in the spring, and most serve for the duration of their academic careers. To qualify and continue as ambassadors, they must:

  • maintain a minimum 2.5 GPA and full-time status as student;
  • adhere to the AASAP Code of Conduct;
  • attend spring and fall retreats and biweekly meetings;
  • participate on or lead a committee;
  • attend an average of three Alumni Association functions (where ambassadors are requested) per semester;
  • participate in Homecoming and Founders’ Day activities.
  • expect 30 hours of involvement per semester.
